On May 26 in Astana, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGas JSC Dastan Abdulgafarov took part in the International Astana Energy Forum by S&P Global at the panel discussion on regional trends in energy sector.

Speaking at the plenary session, he outlined the prospects of exploration development and the company's plans, attracting investors and developing petrochemistry.

“Exploration works and increasing reserves are prioritized strategic goal, as they drive the development of the entire KMG value chain. Today KMG is entering a new investment cycle", - D. Abdulgafarov said.

In addition, KMG Deputy Chairman noted that the company plans to start drilling of two more deep wells in 2024.

Deputy Chairman of KMG focused on petrochemical projects, which should become a new growth area for KazMunayGas in the future.

“The investment attractiveness of the petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan is very high, and KMG will use this ‘window of opportunity’ as a new growth area in the future,” emphasized Dastan Abdulgafarov.

The Astana Energy Forum, organized by S&P Global, is a significant event in the industry, providing an open platform to discuss outstanding issues in the oil and gas industry involving the leading subject-matter experts from all over the world.
